Good Morning,

Well I am off to get started setting up our Trout Unlimited Fundraising Banquet. I always look forward to this since the guys and gals involved are both great volunteers and friends. New this year is that for the first time in 28 years I will not be the main MC for the banquet, I have passed off that torch to the very capable hands Mr. Randy Brock. Randy is the current Hiawatha Chapter of Trout Unlimited’s President, he is also our local television station, KTTC’s meteorologist, and a very dedicated conservationist. While I will be assisting Randy all evening, it is going to feel a lot different looking up to the stage instead of down from it. In any case this is a great deal for our chapter, no one group should always rely on the same leaders and getting new leaders involved is the secret for the long-term growth and health of any volunteer organization. I am really looking forward to tonight’s banquet, we have some unbelievable prizes and with ticket sales up big time I know we will have a successful event that will benefit the cold water resources of SE MN.

I see we are getting quite a few folks voting on their favorite waterfowl specie, that is great. Please let me know what other polls you think would be fun to post.

That is it for now, I have to run and get the banquet signs out of storage and meet with the gang to start setting up. Doors open at 5 PM!
